Interactive Brokers Data Feed Authorization

Overview

Interactive Brokers (IBK) authorizes data feed integrations through an email-based workflow rather than an online portal. To enable BridgeFT to receive account data and Advisor Codes from Interactive Brokers, your end client must email their authorization request directly to Interactive Brokers.

This page walks through the exact email address to send to, provides a ready-to-use email template, and explains what to expect after submission.

Process Steps

Step 1 — Client sends the authorization email

Have your client send an email to Interactive Brokers’ reporting integration team at:

[email protected]

The email body should follow the template in the Email Template section below. The client should replace the bolded placeholders with their own advisor code(s), name, and contact email before sending.

Email Template

Your client can copy and paste the template below. Replace the bolded placeholders with the client’s actual advisor code(s), email, and name before sending.

Subject: ROI Data Feed Authorization Request — BridgeFT

Hi Interactive Brokers Team,

I’d like to initiate an ROI data feed authorization for Bridge Financial Technology to gain access to my account data and Advisor Codes via a direct feed integration with BridgeFT. This includes any client and custodian portals that assist in data feed management and also all files that may be referenced as source material for troubleshooting.

My advisor code(s) with your platform are as follows: [ADVISOR CODE — e.g., 03394934].

Please hit the “Reply” button and provide confirmation of receipt.

For additional information or questions please reach out to [YOUR EMAIL — e.g., [email protected]].

Thank you,

[YOUR NAME]

Note: The advisor code 03394934 and the contact [email protected] / John Jonson shown above are placeholder values from the template and should be replaced with the client’s real information before sending.

Step 2 — Interactive Brokers confirms receipt

Interactive Brokers’ reporting integration team will reply to the email to confirm receipt of the request.

Step 3 — Interactive Brokers processes the request

After confirmation, Interactive Brokers processes the authorization and enables the data feed for BridgeFT against the provided advisor code(s).

Step 4 — Data feed becomes active

Once Interactive Brokers activates the feed, BridgeFT will begin receiving account data for the authorized advisor code(s).

Automate These Requests via the BridgeFT API

If your firm processes a high volume of client onboardings, BridgeFT offers an API that can facilitate ROI (Release of Information) requests programmatically, reducing the manual email workflow above. Full reference documentation is available here:
